fitbit
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Fitbit automatically tracks your fitness and sleepThis is one of the companies that was featured at TechCrunch50. It works by a motion sensor (like the Wii) and detects you motion and converts the information about your daily life activities. The system is wireless and will automatically sync to your computer when you stand within 25-50ft of the base station and automatically upload your info to the website.
The Tracker measures the intensity and duration of your physical activities, calories burned, steps taken, distance traveled, how long it took you to fall asleep, the number of times you woke up throughout the night and how long you were actually asleep vs just lying in bed. You can wear the Tracker loosely in your pocket or clipped to your clothing, even bras.
The Fitbit Tracker retails for $99 and will start shipping in late December to early January, but they are taking pre-orders now (which is good, for there is a limited supply).
