Killola
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Killola is the greatest band to see live
I saw them tonight on this tiny stage at a lesbian bar. They rocked and rolled. The lead singer Lisa, I never knew how short she was in person. She looks so alive and has such a HUGE persona.
She has amazing energy, she rolls around and the ground, runs back and forth on the stage, bounces around. It's such a great feeling, and what a powerful voice.
The best thing about this band is how loyal they are to their fans. They have made an internet fan base and have promoted their heart out for themselves. They are so nice and personable in person. So genuine.
They found me on myspace a long time ago. I was like, ok I'll listen to this rock band from L.A. I was swept up instantly and ordered a free bumper sticker. Their one request, take a photo with the sticker. I decided to be a bit crazy and took one with the sticker taped to my boobies (nipples covered). It was a brave thing to do, sending your boobies to strangers, no matter how covered up they were. BUT They all still remember that to this day and even gave me a shout out on stage (to which I blushed just a tiny bit) but that was awesome. They ended up taking all those photos and collaging them to the inside of their re-released first cd. If you look closely, you might be able to see me, I actually have two pics. The second I turned into fan art (which turned later into a threadless-tshirt submission, slightly altered)
I don't make fan art for bands, ever. This band inspired me too. But I wasn't as crazy as some people that got Killola tattooed on them, they have a whole album of it. That what they do to people. Make them crazy. They are coming back in December, you should definately check them out. They are alot of fun. Plus, they signed my shirt.
