Chiharu Shiota

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Chiharu Shiota

Shiota was born in Osaka, Japan and lives and works in Berlin. She wraps objects from floor to ceiling in miles of black wool. Her work, ambiguous and stunning, leaves you curious about the strangled objects seemingly suspended in time and space. Abandoned.

Chiharu’s works convey a very personal, profound meaning; they are a physical creation of a shrouded memory literally exploding from the artist.

"Maybe I am unable without fretting to create more art, and if I am unable to create more art, I become more fretful," so she once wrote.
