My trip to the Neon Boneyard

Last weekend my husband, brother and a close family friend all went and took a tour of the Neon Boneyard Museum in Las Vegas.This was my first trip to Las Vegas and this place was what I was looking forward to most. I've seen countless photos online of this typography nerd's wet dream so as soon as I knew I was going to Vegas, I quickly scheduled a request for a tour. I recommend booking in advance as you can't do walk-in visits.

The Neon Museum was established as a non-profit organization in 1996 to collect and exhibit neon signs, the classic Las Vegas art form. Dedicated individuals from the private sector as well as corporate and government entities have worked tirelessly to promote the preservation of these national treasures. The Neon Museum's mission is to collect, preserve, study and exhibit neon signs and associated artifacts to inspire educational and cultural enrichment for diverse members of our international community.

They also have a pretty strict policy on photography, they make you sign a release form and you're not allow to commercially sell any of your images. The museum is a non-profit and they make all their money on licensing photos, the tours and grants.They have lots of amazing future plans for the museum which include turning this old diner into the main office.
