Easy WMV
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Easy WMV has solved all my problemsI've been wanting a cheap easy program to convert all my video files I download to MP4 so I can watch them on my iPod. Most I've found are around $30 or more and most are also for Windows. When I have DVD type files, I can easily convert them with Handbrake, a free program and it's super easy to use. The newer version (only works with Max 10.5, which I don't have yet) now supports Apple TV, iPod & iPhone.
I downloaded The Decline of Western Civilization and they came out as mpg files. I was having a hard time looking for something that would convert them and work with my mac. I came across Easy WMV, it was only $15 and it had all the features I've been looking for:Main features* Input formats: asf, avi, flv, m4v, mp4, mpg, mpeg, mov, nsv, swf (uncompressed), vob, wmv* Output formats: mp4, mpg* Manual or automatic audio bit rate selection from source (32-320kbps)* Video encoding up to 2.5mbit/s* Support H.264 encoding for mpeg4 video* Creates video for QuickTime, Apple TV, iPod and iPhone* Batch processing* Optimized for multi-core and multi-processor systems* Drag & drop of files and folders* iTunes integration
It's one of those awesome drag-in-drop type programs, where you drag the file into the program window and it goes to town.
It automatically puts the converted files where you dragged them from or you can tell it to put it somewhere else. The iTunes integration will automatically (after you enabled the preferences) add converted files to a playlist in iTunes.
